Cathy sounds like a great candidate. Did she say why she didn't want to or wasn't able to run as a Democrat? I didn't see that in your interview and was curious why not. It seems like it would have given her a better chance to win.
I thought she said that Larry Knight signed up on the last day possible, just to get somebody listed as a Democrat. I was wondering why she hadn't signed up before then. Maybe I misunderstood the sequence of events.
Thanks for the question, Jim. I hadn’t planned to run this time- hoping another great candidate would step up. Only after the Dem candidate told me he wasn’t going to campaign, did I decide to run…too late to run as a Dem. Also, I found more success of working together when no political party was brought up.
No, you're right. On her website it says she left the Democratic party after her run in 2022, so it seems like, for the reasons she states in the interview, that she was already feeling the Dem party wasn't the best option before the 2024 campaign season started.

Hi Jim, she does say, right at the top. There was already a Democrat running, Larry Knight.

I'm guessing she made her decision to enter the race late, after Larry Knight had signed up without a real commitment to campaigning. I wish her luck.
