Hello from Grant St (we met today)! I second Christine's comment and would love to be updated on any and all fundraising opportunities. With the deadline looming, I am concerned that we are missing out on the most vital time to create awareness around this project. Many seasonal residents and visitors to our community are currently in the area and I would hate for them not to be educated on this important cause while they are here.
This is exciting news! It seems this will allow some of the land to be preserved while also allowing some realistic development. Without this purchase by the GTRLC, I don’t think it was economically feasible for a developer to purchase the larger tract at the asking price and then develop it in a way that would have made the community happy. Now with the state land bank owning the portion of the land to be developed, it opens the door for the land to be developed in a way that fits the area vs. just developing a mega project in order to make the project economically feasible.
As a resident of Elberta, this is disappointing news. There is already plenty of perseved land around the local area. What Elberta really needs is something to add to our tax base. Otherwise, the village will continue to deteriorate.
Yes. There will be lots of opportunities for us all to be involved in the planning process for the 9 acres. I think a lot of people are concerned about this issue.
