Volunteers are needed on July 4! Per our temporary traffic control order, DPW and some helpful residents will be placing barricades along Bye Street as beach parking begins to fill up.
People are needed for one hour (or longer) shifts every hour starting at 5:30 p.m. until after the fireworks (probably midnight). State troopers will be stationed at M22 and Frankfort Avenue; volunteers will be needed to help Justin Towle (DPW) at Bye Street and Furnace Street, and President Wilkins at the Life Saving Station Parking lot and the end of Furnace Street.

If you want to help keep parking safe and orderly, and watch the barricades so they don’t get used as firewood (a thing that has happened), please call or text the DPW phone at 231-651-9626 stating your name and preferred shift time.
Volunteers get this sweeeeettt Village of Elberta embroidered patch, suitable for affixing to a hat, safety vest, jumpsuit, or jeans butt pocket!
