The Budget, Finance, Grant, and Audit Committee have completed their labors on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2024/25 and it is ready for you to view on the Village website.
Your comments and input are welcome; you can submit them via email to clerk@villageofelberta.com, drop them in the dropbox, send them by mail, or come and speak at the meeting on February 15 at the Community Building at 7 p.m., where the budget hearing will take place before the regular council meeting.
The Village website now has a newsletter plugin, which means that if you would like to get information delivered straight from the official e-channel of your local government to your email inbox, you can do so. I imagine these emails will be things like: notices of office hour changes, water project updates, construction notices, special meeting notices, public hearings, requests for bids, employment opportunities, state-mandated reporting stuff like water quality reports, etc.
Since I am also managing the Village website at the moment, I am going to try to limit the overlap between information on this Alert newsletter (which is not a state-run media organization! though with me being on the council it sure probably seems that way) and information that comes from the Village Office newsletter. But I guess everyone should just be aware that, at least for now, it’s all me—although, when it comes from the Village website, it’s coming at the direction or request of President Wilkins, Kat Ralston, DPW, or the rest of council (it’s not just me making stuff up).
I eagerly anticipate the glorious future when someone else is managing the Village website (and getting paid for it) and there may be a more exciting variation in content between it and the Alert.
If you go to the Village website’s home page, you will see the newsletter signup field on the right under the Community Calendar and the search function.
