Some further upsetting details have come to light in the murder of Linda Henry in February 2022. Before you click on the following links, be warned: both the text of the articles and the linked text of the lawsuit itself are outrageous. I’m not covering this story, but I’m linking to this important local coverage icymi, including a story by Colin Merry posted yesterday on the Record-Patriot website.
The story was covered by MLive, in an, ahem, not very well put together piece, on January 31.
UpNorthLive released its story yesterday. In it (and from the word on the street) we learn that several residents attended the Board of Commissioners meeting to comment yesterday, and one is quoted in this story.
One of the defendants named in the federal lawsuit against the Sheriff Department is Deputy Matthew Weaver, who was fired from the department in August of 2021 for entering and searching an Elberta residence without a warrant. Weaver’s termination also listed examples of other instances for which he had been disciplined. You can read about that and the ensuing litigation Weaver undertook to be reinstated to the department in this October 8, 2021, story by Colin Merry.
